Roof repairs

Minor roof maintenance is a task which can be
completed in a short period of time.

Minor roof repairs can be completed by one or two people, does not involve difficult work and often only involves a small area. When replacing roof tiles and  replacing ridge tiles remember  this is specialised work and should be carried out by professional roofers. For larger Roof Repair jobs  it would normally  be necessary to have scaffolding.

Before starting roof repairs look at whether working from height can be avoided, you will need to decide how to access the roof, prevent falls from the roof, and  work safely on the roof. Consider how to get equiptment and materials on/ off the roof safely.You should prevent the fall of tools and materials by using tool belts and other methods. Materials ,tools and debris should never be thrown down from height.

When undertaking all roof maintenance projects you should access the roof strength. This includes,identifying  fragile tiles, Slope, Slippery tiles, whether the tiles can be easily damaged.
